Hermès Pop-Up Store - Garden Of Eden - Bodrum

Interior & Facade Design

The first Hermès pop-up store project in Türkiye is located in “Eden Bay” in Bodrum. The concept is inspired by the location itself where the aim was to reflect the unordinary and fun spirit of Hermès by making references to local details and design a store that arouses curiosity, while being in harmony with the environment and nature.

A light structure made of steel was used to ensure fast construction in line with the requirement of a pop-up store. Rounded and plastered wall surfaces with niches were created for the interior as a reference to the famous local architecture style of Bodrum, while the exterior coating, painted by an international artist, made a reference to the soil layers inspired by the earth.

Kitchen-ist reinterpreted the Garden of Eden and portrayed the tree of knowledge as a mandarin tree, commonly found in Bodrum.

In order to emphasize the tree of knowledge, which is one of the main elements of the concept, different sizes of plywood layers were brought together to shape display units in the form of trees by using the steam bending method.

A ceiling system was created with split panels placed at different angles in two different green tones, referring to tree leaves.

At the heart of nature facing the Aegean Sea, the store was designed with a transparent look, and a patio was specifically created to offer a unique shopping experience to customers. Biophilic design approach was followed throughout the project and inspired by nature itself. Natural, raw, sustainable materials such as plywood, travertine and natural colors were selected for display units and the interior design.

In addition, a terrace where the view can be enjoyed was designed to provide a different customer experience.
